2016年4月15日，數盾科技與北京大學依托各自的技術優勢，共同在密碼協議設計與應用、密碼算法設計與應用、密碼安全性分析、密碼密鑰配用體系進行研究，并聯合成立北京大學密碼技術實驗室。共同研發確保通信安全的加密軟件、硬件產品。
北京大學于七十年代開始承擔總參謀部的密碼研究任務，1974年開始為總參謀部多次開設密碼理論國防培訓班，由此在地方高校中率先開啟了參與國防課題，并開啟了國防相關單位成規模培養人才的先河。當時北大數學系的段學復院士、丁石孫教授作為國防高級顧問是北大參與國防密碼研究和教學的先驅。其后的40多年中，北大多次為總參設立研究生班，累計為部隊培養密碼學研究生超過200人。北大逐步形成了把信息安全科學研究和研究生培養相結合的特色，同時在密碼學研究的若干分支中具有國際領先優勢。
近年來北大在網絡安全領域承擔了國家863/973、自然科學基金等百余個科研項目，發表論文400余篇，包括國際頂級會議及期刊的100余篇論文，并取得了一系列重要成果。如在密碼學院研究中提出無限域上橢圓曲線密碼新理論、提出一些列改進橢圓曲線密碼實現速度的重要方法、破譯了PKCY多變量公鑰密碼算法。
數盾科技具有國家密碼管理局頒發的商用密碼產品生產定點單位證書、商用密碼產品銷售許可證，以及公安部、國家保密局頒發的產品銷售許可證，同時數盾科技在加密機研發及制造方面具有國內領先水平，這些有效的資質以及優良的產品是市場推廣中不可或缺的重要因素。
數盾科技與北京大學優勢互補，達成長期、全面的戰略合作關系，實現資源共享、共同發展、共同拓展市場，通過強強聯合，達成互利雙贏的目的。
